I've been pulled into confusion with Travel bolt-ons.
I am about to go to a Zone 1 country. I have the O2 travel bolt on (£7/day when used) and the Zone 1 Data bolt on (1GB for £6 as a one-off charge). My understanding was that the data on the Zone 1 bolt-on would be used 'first' until I got to 1GB, and I would only be charged for the Travel bolt-on if I used the phone/messaging or used more than the 1GB data.
I spoke to an advisor to confirm and he said that I needed to cancel the O2 Travel Bolt-on as otherwise the Zone 1 bolt-on is "useless'. But this doesn't sound right to me. I have the travel bolt-on in case of emergency phone calls being needed, not for everyday use, so I don't want to cancel it.
What are other people's understanding with this?

To be honest I would pay the £7 a day as it gives you calls, texts and data whilst roaming, which you only pay if you use service, and 1GB might not last you long.
So I would cancel the data bolt on and just stick with o2 travel

I think you'll be charged the daily rate anyway for any data use.
The additional bolt on is useless to you in this instance.
