Transferring phone number from one O2 Contract to another

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I have recently travelled to Australia, and left my o2 sim card back in the UK as it was no use over here. The contract had a year remaining and therefore I didnt want to cancel it and pay the remaining months off.

A family member has an o2 contract that they have had for 24 months, and so instead of renewing their contract, they are cancelling it and taking my sim card to use. I was going to simply change the bank account details into their name, however they want to keep the phone number from their existing phone contract, instead of using the number of my sim card.

Is this possible, and if so, how would I go about it?

Thanks!

Yes it should be simple enough for CS to port the old number over to your sim, however, your number will be lost, if that's an issue....?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
