Transferring number to a different name/contract

Hi,

My daughter uses O2. The contract is in my name from about a decade ago, although she uses the phone and pays the bill. The mimimum term on the current contract has been completed and the device all paid off.

She now wants to upgrade but would like the contract to be in her name. The easiest way to do this will be that she will get a new contract with O2. However, she would like to keep the existing number. Is this possible? Our research suggsts that PAC codes can only be used when transferring networks. So if she was going to EE, it would be easier. She is quite keen to stay with O2 though if possible.

Cheers

Its not the 'problems' is the practicalities.

If she orders a new contract through EE and request a PAC code on her current decide, she can get a new phone and get it set up quickly. To stay with O2 will be more compicated and requires speaking to someone and potentially not getting through for weeks at this rate! The most important thing for her is that she keeps her number.

@young

A new network would seem easier on the face of it.

Just make sure she gets good coverage with whoever she chooses.

Its just not clear to me whether the PAC code will work between O2 accounts. It seems its only used for changing networks.

'If you’re joining us but not switching from another network, you don’t need a code.'
