Transferring existing O2 number to new O2 contract phone

Hi, we have been using O2 pay as you go phone/sim for a number of years and last week we went ahead and ordered a new Pay Monthly phone with 24 month contract.  We want to have our old PAYG phone number transferred to use with the new Pay Monthly phone so we called Customer Services and they said they will do it.  a week later and 4 further phone calls for the same thing and it still has not been done. Each time they say sorry and it will be done within 24 hours and NOTHING!

 

We're at the end of our tether now with O2 so will be cancelling the contract and going elsewhere unless this is resolved immediately. How hard can it be for heaven's sake?

 

Can somebody please get in touch and sort this out once and for all please? I can provide details as needed.

I’ll ask @EmilieT to assist with this simple process which customer service seem to be failing with yet again.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
