I've got a 24 month contract that is in my dads name and I turn 18 in a few weeks and i'm wondering if it's possible to transfer the contract to my name.

Bit of advise as soon as you turn 18 register on the electoral roll. Will help with the inevitable credit check.

Problem nowadays is not having a credit rating is nearly as bad as having a bad credit rating !

As my 18 year old son found out recently.

Updating any bank accounts to a current account or opening one will help you too as a bank does an automatic credit check adding weight to your credit rating.

Asking for an overdraft does too but just be aware of getting into any financial hardships !

Some networks give a 6 month rolling contract sim first to see if you can maintain payments and then upgrade you from there.

Some ask for a chunk of cash upfront to secure the handset.
