Can anyone tell me if i can do either of these things

1) my existing a/c in my name; change the details to my daughters name and details (the phone linked to the account is now hers)  OR

2) set up a new account for her in O2 and transfer the phone from my account to her new one.

You need to get a new account for your daughter and then transfer the phone number to it which will close your current account.
You cannot just change names unfortunately.
Fees may be payable if the contract has not reached minimum term.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@surfinglizard If your daughter has never had an account before she would have to apply for one herself and pass a credit check.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

@surfinglizard I think you can transfer the account or contract once the minimum term is up or the device plan is paid off
