I'm considering getting a phone on a contract through Tesco online and was wondering if it's possible to keep my old PAYG number which I have had for 10+ years and transfer it to this new contract?

Yes you can.

Ring O2 and ask for your PAC which you need to give to Tesco.

Sorry, I read it as an O2 contract through Tesco?

My mistake entirely, should've been clearer... Yes, O2 contract, purchased through Tesco Phone Shop online.
I'm not sure how this will work...

If I bite I'll do it online and hopefully they have a 'current number' setup during the process over at Tesco, if not I'll assume I can just contact O2 and get them to ditch the number assigned to the contract and port in my PAYG number...
