Last month I bought a new phone in my name and have tried 3 times since to transfer my old number to my new phone (old number was in my dad’s name). Every time I speak to O2 they tell me there is an error (apparently a PAC code was requested to port my number but I did not request this) and I keep being told different things by different people, and none have resolved my issue. I am paying for 2 phones now and all I want to know is can I transfer my number to my new phone or will I have to use my new number now?

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this
Thanks

First off, if it was a migration O2 to O2 then a PAC is not required. It was probably raised by some clueless Customer Service Agent as they thought that is what they had to do.
Secondly, to do a migration your father would have to give permission for the number to be moved.
Best contacting the UK based Social Media team who are more clued up

Thanks for the advice, I have been into an O2 shop and called them twice with my dad with no luck - just keep getting told different things that don’t solve my issue. I will contact social media team who can hopefully help.

If you don't get any luck, then you could try the more difficult route of porting your number out and back in again @Csimmons98
Get any PAYG sim from another network.
Get your PAC from o2 and give it to the new network.
After the number has moved, and everything is working, get your PAC from the new network.
Give the 2nd PAC to o2 and get the number on the new o2 contract.
Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).
