Hi. I currently have 10 months left of my o2 pay monthly sim only contract.
For the purposes of this post, my o2 number is 123456789

I have been given a work phone which I will also use as my personal phone.
Can I transfer my o2 number (123456789) to my work SIM which is on Vodafone.

I then want a “random” number assigning to my o2 contract as it costs too much to cancel it so I will just leave this running.

Thanks,

Jake

No sorry. Once you move your number, your contract ends immediately and a final bill is generated.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Just a thought, can you get work to pay for your o2 contract until it ends so you can keep it going, then switch to their network?
They will still only be paying for one phone and you get to keep your number.

Thanks for the quick replies all, even if it’s not the answer I hoped for.

@MI5 Good idea but no can do I’m afraid. I’ll just have to start using my new work number and I’ll give my old one to a family member.

Cheers.

Thanks, honestly wasn’t expecting replies so quickly, but it’s a pleasant surprise.

The other problem you'd have is that you're struggle to get your 123456789 number ''back' from Vodafone when and if you ever leave, even if you could port it , which you can't.

If you don't want to carry two phones then set to forward 'all calls' from the old phone to the new one.

You can divert your calls to your work number and the calls will just come out of your monthly allowance. Bit doesn't work for texts.
