@Drew

You could use your old sim if it fits. Otherwise advice in this guide

https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/how-to-keep-your-mobile-number

You could also call O2 and ask them to migrate your old number across.

@Nielka

If you upgrade you automatically retain your number.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hello. Thank you for the advise with upgrade, however i will not use it as the upgrade options are ... not the best.

Think have to say bit more. I have found deal with o2 on compare web with I do like and it is much beter than on the O2 web, upgrade and new contract.

Need to know do i have to notify O2 when taking number to new contract.

Do I have to give O2 notice or just move it. (from O2 to O2 but new deal)

@Nielka

You need to get the new deal and then call O2 to migrate your old number to the new deal.

This will end your old O2 contract at the same time.

There is no requirement to give notice to do this, just call and request the number migration.
