Top Up credit being used up by unautherised texts & calls!

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi, I would like someone to help me please, I live in Spain but have always kept my O2 pay as u go English mobile topped up for when we go to UK or for friends to use.  My credit is being eaten up by all these 'Firms' that persist in texting or ringing me about, 'PPI!', 'Accident Compensation', 'Bank Charges', etc, etc. I have asked O2 for help but would have been better banging my head against a wall!  They just kept asking 'When & where I last topped up and how much, Doohhh!!' These calls etc have cost me over 9pounds in the last few months. I am a Pensioner so don't know much about blocking! I have a Nokia Flip Phone.  ph

They have to ask these questions in order to prove who you are, for security and to prevent anyone else making changes to your account.

If you are being charged for premium rate messages you should report and make a claim from PhonePay Plus:

I'm not sure if you can use them if you're not in the UK so you'll need to check.

O2 will allow you one free number change to help avoid these calls and texts.
