The age of spam text spoofing

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

So someone seems to be trying to hack my mobile via spoofed text messages.

The text comes in without a phone number as this has been repalced with alpha numeric text (read about that here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMS_spoofing) and this means it can't be blocked by any means that i know of.

The text basically contains links that will direct you to download an app from goo.gl and ask you to reply to a number in the text if you want the messages to stop. (i am not replying)

Anyone else getting these are am i the only one?

Try reporting as much detail as you can to the regulators here http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/
But yeah, I agree, it's really annoying.

There are so many scams around these days that everyone gets.
Just delete them and they can't hurt you.

Wll yeah but i get them every single day, its just annoying having my phone buzz only for it to be this crap.

But there doesn't seem to be alot of talk on this, no proper way of reporting it and no way of preventing it, so i thought i would throw it out there.
