When I was in Senegal, I bought a local Orange SIM with which I was able to text my husband on his O2 pay monthly SIM but he was unable to send me texts from his O2 phone - he didn't get an error message, it just never arrived. I had no problem sending and receiving texts from GiffGaff.

Wondering if this is an issue with O2 or with Orange..

Difficult to say in all honesty.
It could have been an issue with the number format he was using or anything really.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
