Texting from the U.K. to Europe

Hi,

I have a friend in Switzerland who I would like to text and I live in the U.K.
I'm on a Pay Monthly tariff which is 500 mb of data, 500 mins and Unlimited texts. I'm guessing it will cost me extra to text outside of the U.K. and the unlimited texts are only to U.K. mobiles? I read something about 20p per text outside of the U.K., is that correct? Can you get unlimited texts to Europe?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous I am currently on holiday in Spain and I use FB messnger to stay in touch with my lot back home. Works perfectly via my Note 3 or PC...:smileywink:

I do have facebook but my friend doesn't use it. I will probably stick with Skype. But thanks everyone for the help and advice

Just to add...you don't need a facebook account to use messenger. It can be used as a standalone app
