Texting and calling the UK from Croatia

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me. I'm going to Croatia for a couple of weeks and would like to know if I can still text and call my partner for free as I'm on contract (he's on ee if that makes any difference), I've looked online at some forums and in the help section but I'm getting very confused with all the Europe roaming charges and that, I've been looking online for about three hours now with no luck. if anyone can help me it would be very much appreciated. Thanks

You can't call and text free unfortunately as your allowances are for use in the UK only. O2 Travel will cost you £1.99 per day for data, calls and texts. Bearing mind that even sending a single text will trigger the £1.99/day charge.

You can download and use TU over wifi which will use your UK allowances but you need to switch off mobile data to ensure you are using wifi.

Opting out of O2 Travel means you will be charged the standard European rates but it depends how many calls and texts you make to see if it amounts to more than the £1.99/day.

O2 Travel here :

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/international/using-phone-in-europe

To opt out : text TRAVELOFF to 21300

TU : http://www.o2.co.uk/help/apps/tu-go

There will also be no cost for your partner whichever option you choose to use.
