Text to mms conversion!??

Having a dim moment and need to know the amount of characters it is before a text gets converted into an mms? Sorry don't have time to search through loads of threads.. I'm in a rush 😱

You can set your phone to warn you when it converts to mms. Smilies are the killer....

Settings > messages> turn mms off and enable character count 

I have never been charged for a mms

Ahh I've got that enabled, what I wanted to avoid was the end of my message being cutoff as I don't get charged for mms but this was an important text that I didn't want to end in the middle of a sentence.

Is there a warning thingy then our does mms need to be enabled for that?

Just turn off mms. The text as you know will be sent as a group message of it goes past 480. Could you not use a messenger app @gindygoo

Hi @Anonymous they've never been sent as a group since I've had MMS switched off. On both this iPhone and the Moto G 4g they've always just cutoff, which is annoying as I end up having to resend the end of the message.

I wish I could get this family member to use messing apps, but unfortunately it's an oldster who only recently learned to text (that took forever to convince them) so it's a no on the messaging app front lol.

I don't normally write novels in messages tbh but this was important.

Anyway I managed to condense the message somewhat and didn't use smilies which use up loads of characters I've done it.

Thanks for everyone's help on this, I had a total brain freeze 😱
