Hi all,
Been with o2 for 7 years now. Switched to them when moved to a new home as they were the strongest signal and former (Tmobile) was dropping calls/poor signal.
I've noticed recently that my signal (still in same home) has gone to the dogs. Both inside and outside. I'm not receiving some calls, and some of my calls are getting dropped mid-conversation. Additionally my data drops as well very frequently.
I'm on the ancient 'Simplicity 20' with unlimited data. Because of its age I don't have access to 4g, my connection is 3g only.
My questions are; If I change to another 4G plan in theory will this improve my signal (i.e. am I getting poor signal because I am a 3g connection only).
My next question is, because of the excellent value of my current plan, will O2 price match/upgrade me to the same plan on 4G?
Any help is appreciated, sadly I'm at the end of my limits and the next step is getting my PAC and F'ing off to another provider.
Thank you

Just an update incase anyone stumbles across this post and wanted to know how it ended.
Spoke with O2 via webchat. The first generalist seemed very interested that I had been on the same plan for 7 years and was all too eager to insist that o2 would stretch far to keep me as a customer. I was passed to the ‘upgrades team’. The assistant there was very nice however for a number of typed sentences I had to ask what they meant (their english was unfortunately very poor). I asked if they would price match another networks plan and they said absolutely. So I directed them to a smaller provider who offers excellent value - 6gb 4g data, and eight trillion minutes and texts (these numbers are always meaningless to me as I am a low-user) for £12 pcm. Unfortunately the response was, would you like 25gb 4g data, unlimited texts + minutes on a 12 month contract (I had made it crystal clear to both assistants first that I was only interested in 30 day contracts) for £25 pcm. I said, so you are not willing to match that price to keep me as a customer. “Unfortunately not” was the response. To their credit, they were chirpy enough sending me my PAC code immediately after. Can’t fault the person.
Best of luck to all
