I just got hit by this legalised fraud. Found I had been subscribed to a Taptronics Health App- which I definitely hadn't. I guess they try this as Health is popular.
There is no Taptronic app on my phone, and I can't even find one on the app store from Taptronic, so how could they charge me £3 per month for something that doesnt exist?
On to O2 help, firstly they tell me I subscribed, which obviously they can't prove. Then they will block further charges. I got so cross that they were telling me they intended to keep the first charges I told them I would cancel the account. I got a refund!
O2 need to stop this relationship- it is clear that Taptronic are defrauding O2 customers with O2 consent and support- after all they get a huge amount of money from them!!!
Shame on you O2

Hi have notice today that I have been charged £3 a week for the past 15 or 16 months.
Did I just read on one of the comments that O2 and most mobile service providers get a % on this charge???
Unbelivable. I am seeking legal advise. I am sure this is not legal. I am not a legal expert but no win no fee people will take care of O2 and get me the right refund/compensation.
I am also dropping a word to Martin Lewis so in the event that it gets worse he will know better how to deal with this to advise the crowd that follows his advise.
I have raised this today with O2 but I am absolutely furious about it.
O2 lost me today and will alert friends and family to prevent them to be scammed by O2 and their"3rd party"(business partners).
Not having any of it.

Im sorry to be the bearer of bad news:
It is your responsibility to check your bill for any charges that you don't recognise and report to o2, you have taken 16 months to notice these so o2 and many other will deem that you accepted and knew about these charges.
Martin Lewis will do *beep!* all about this, as he has in the past...
o2 dont owe you anything, contact the content provider and they should help, although im sure they will tell you the same.
Also check out this guide: and have a google for payforitsucks

The regulator (PSA) has fined Taptronic £1,250,000 in respect of the Fitguru "service" (but it is unlikely ever to be paid!). Taptronic have also been ordered to issue refunds, so if you failed to obtain a refund you should now try again. If there was any justice, O2 should also have faced a fine for their continued participation in the scam, but PSA lack the power to do so. O2 will have taken at least 20% of the proceeds, but will face no action!
The regulator discovered that malware was responsible for many of the fraudulent subscriptions. Indeed, one of their test phones became "subscribed" while locked and idle!
O2's continued involvement in this scam for years after it was first brought to their attention is disgraceful. https://psauthority.org.uk/for-business/adjudications/2021/9/taptronic-fzc-152741-track-2-500d1951-c...
