Taken my money for nothing

I topped up £15 so I could unlock my iPhone 4 (I'm on pay and go) and because of mobile data being switched on (I didn't know this could take credit, new phone you see), £1 has been taken! I now have to top up another £10 at the least to be able to unlock my phone, which is credit that I won't use!!!! I want my £1 back or to be able to top up £1, any help???

You would normally have to make a couple of calls anyway to have the simcard associated with the IMEI number otherwise the unlock would fail.

There's nothing stopping you using the remaining credit on the phone though. You cannot top up by £1 so you would need to top up by the minimun £10. We usually advise on here to top up initially by £20 and make a few calls. It's a shame you didn't check on here first.

I would go with Jonsie's advice.

You are looking at topping up another £10.

If your not going to use the credit left on the sim ,then you could get another payg sim ,and ask 02 to transfer the remaining credit to it ,and either pass it onto a family member or friend or sell it.
