Swapping phone number

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I have an O2 contract, my wife has an Orange contact. For various reasons, we want to swap SIMs so that I use the Orange contract and my wife uses the O2 contract. That's easy enough with unlocked phones.

The complication comes in that we want to both keep our own numbers ie I want my orange number ported to my wife's O2 account and my wife wants her existing O2 number ported to my Orange account.

Can this be done between the two companies or will I need to use a third SIM to 'hold' a number whilst numbers are being ported.

Any help most welcome.

Yes you will need a third sim for the orange pac transfer. As you need to deactivate a number during the transfer. In fact you might need a fourth six. Although if you don't mind waiting 24 hours and don't use your telephones. Then you might not need a 3rd or 4th sim.

Unfortunately, once you use your PAC your contract is ended, so, although you will have swapped numbers the contracts won't exist anymore. You will also get early termination bills if your contracts are not due for renewal.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
