Swapping numbers but keeping both contracts

Hi, 

My phone has broken and I'm looking at getting a new contract with a different provider - purely due to benefits that they are offering? My contract has a few months to go so I want to swap my current number to the new contract and then keep my contract until it's finished. If I request a PAC code, will it automatically cancel my contract and make me pay the cancellation fee?

SWapping the number over will also cancel the other contract.

PAC will do the same @SGW13

@SGW13 Yes you will still have to pay for any months remaining on your O2 contract.
