Swapping my phone number with wifes phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

I`m about to get a new iphone6 but would like to give it to my wife and have have her old iphone 4s.

How easy would it be to transfer my wifes old number to my iphone6 account and my number to her iphone4 account. Basically swapping numbers between two phones/accounts. Were both on O2 contracts/accounts so no inter-phone company hassle to include.

Thanks,

Just order new SIMs and swap phones and use http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/ to put the right account on each SIM.

You can't but you could just switch sim cards.

Just swap sim cards. Go into a phone shop and they can cur the sim to fit the iphone 6 and put yours in an adapter to fit an iPhone 4S

Adapters can sometimes cause problems. If they're going to go into an O2 shop, they both may as well have the right sized sim for each phone. A sim swap in store is simple and easy.

Totally agree that adapters can sometime cause issues (they often get stuck in the sim tray) however some O2 shops charge £10.00 for a new PAYM sim

If the OP calls Customer Services on 202 and requests new sims there should be no charge. They can then use this link to swap the sims: http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/

The hardest part will be trying to get through to CS over the next few days.

I've not heard of or experienced O2 charging for contract SIMs, though they may ask for a Top-up with a PAYG SIM.

£10 top up only required when buying a new PAYG phone.
