Swap numbers between 02?

Anonymous
Not applicable

My current  24M contract with 02 is about to end in 2 weeks, I basically wan't to upgrade from my s7 to an s8 but 02's upgrade offers are relatively expensive. I've found a great deal on mobiles.co.uk which is also with 02, I've had no issue's so ideally want to stay with 02.

If I buy the new 02 contract via mobiles.co.uk will I be able to move my current number onto the new tariff?

I know it's easy to port when changing network but I'm not sure of what happens when it's being kept with the same provider.

thanks

Yea you can.
You need to get your new contract then call customer service on 202 and ask them to migrate your number to the new contract.
This will immediately end the old one and generate the final bill which will include the 30 days notice payment, so you will effectively be paying for two contracts during the first month only.

Hi @Anonymous yes you can https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/how-to-keep-your-mobile-number

Or if your sim fits your new phone then use that....

Just discuss it with Mobiles.co.uk

I’d advise against using your old sim as that will have your old contract on it so you will be paying for two contracts every month.

I wouldn't have thought that was an issue if one contract had ended @MI5?

If the contract is ended the sim would be dead anyway.
Swapping sims is ok if you upgrade directly with o2 as the contract is changed on the system so the old sim will take the new details, but as this is not directly with o2 the number needs to be migrated to the new contract.
