Hi, I currently have a sim only deal which it's no longer in contract. I want to get a news deal and new phone. However the upgrade deals aren't great. I have found a great deal with buymobilephones.net. The deal is still with o2.
My question is, if I take this deal, which it's effectively starting a new contract, can I swap my phone number from my old sim only deal. I know I can when its with another provider, but this it's still with o2.
Also another question, my sim only deal is in my maiden name, new contract will be in my married name. Would this matter?

In answer to the first part of your question, no - swapping a number from one Sim to another is no problem, can be done by SMS.
The second part, well - try it, I guess.

@TG14 You'd be wise to do this before doing anything. It would just make the transition easier: https://www.o2.co.uk/help/account-and-billing/changing-your-name
