My dad got a text today as follows
FromO2: we were unable to process your last bill. To avoid suspension of your contract , please update billing information now.
second message was a link to website o2-bills.com
to me it looks like an obvious scam.
anyone else seen or get a message like this.

@BbSeanIt could be a scam. Forward the email to the link in this site https://www.o2.co.uk/help/safety-and-security/fraud-and-phishing-advice
Also contact customer services asap and ask for the status of your dads account https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Hopefully your dad didn't click on the link. There was a spate of these a couple of months back so as suggested, check through My O2 that there has been no unauthorised spending on his account.

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you all.
First off thanks to everyone for the replies and the confirmation that it did not come from O2.
Thankfully my brother was on hand and he deleted the messages immediately.
checked his account online and confirmed that the last payment was made earlier in the month.
