Still being charged for nothing

Hello.
At the end of July I left UK for good, so I paid off my phone, cancelled my contract and took only one months tariff at the beginning of July to last me until I leave.
Since 30th of July I am not using any of O2 services and today I surprisingly received same email that I need to pay £25 for the previous month (07/26-08/26). How come If I have not used it at all and had one months tariff until the beginning of August???
Did they forget to change it or what?

Call CS then and query it as it might be they forgot to cancel you.

If you gave one months notice at the end of July then you will be billed for August

@Anonymous  Your post is a little confusing. Do you mean that you took a one month sim only tariff after you canceled your contract? If so, you would have had to cancel that too as it would just roll over to the next month.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

I went to the O2 salon at the beginning of July and cancelled my contract and paid off my phone:) so that should have been sorted out already as it's been almost 2 months after cancellation.
Instead she offered me to take one months SIM card for £12 and told me that after it's finished i will not be charged because it will last only one month.
And the date of the bill £25 pound is exactly the same when I had a contract and they used to charge on the same day.

I gave them a call. The guy said that he will sort it out. I just don't understand how come I am still being charged after I spent so much time dealing with them in the salon..:) and he said he will send me an email but I still didn't get it..
