How can O2 text me at 1400 hours to say I’ve used 50% of my spend cap, then again 18.49 to say I’ve used 100% of my spend cap, this does not ring true to me?? As I’ve not used my phone this afternoon?

Most likely due to the system being slow at reporting usage.

My O2 isn't a 'live' indication for data usage
It updates at periodically
The only true data usage is at midnight each day and via the phone's own ecord
