I don't know how I subscribed and certainly did not opt to do so. I searched on google and the number has been reported.
I have been charged by O2 for receiving these unwanted texts last month and this month, and wondered if I can claim this money back?
Thanks in advance.

You can try and get PhonePay Plus to recover this for you, or contact the company sending them, O2 are not responsible:

These type of messages are controlled by PhonepayPlus
Follow the advice on their website.

I find it somewhat ludicrous that O2 are not responsible in any way. They are the service provider after all.
Anyway, thanks again.

They're only handling the charges, they didn't create them.

once again, thank you for the advice, but the 'it's your own fault' attitude is unhelpful.

It is not your fault but neither is it the fault of O2, the company that sends out this rubbish must accept responsibility.

I accept it is my responsibility how I use it, but these messages were unwanted, I did not subscribe to the service offered and only in the past hour received a message saying I am being charged. Therefore, I am not responsible for these charges. Now that I do know, I am trying to rectify the matter.

I already posted you a link with all the info you needed - How was that not helpful?
My response was to your comment that you felt O2 were responsible, so we'll agree to disagree and leave it at that.......
