Some texts not reaching recipient

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

Recently, one of my contacts (the one I talk to most as it so happens) has not been receiving text messages that I am sending them. I am receiving theirs fine, however they are getting either nothing from me. Everyone else recieves them without issue. This contact is on EE.

To add further confusion, I use the old delivery notifier (*0#) and I get a confirmation text saying it has been delivered, but it never actually arrives at the recipients phone. Tested while sitting next to them, just to be sure too!

This has only started happening within the past few weeks, and has never been an issue prior to this.

Has anyone else experienced this? And anything towards a resolution?

Thanks

Adam

Hi

Has the person blocked your number by mistake perhaps?

Can the person receive your calls fine or not?

Sounds like they have accidentally  blocked you. Ask them to check message settings and call settings for auto reject numbers. Almost a certainty.

She hasn't done it via operator, and I've looked at the spam/reject list on her phone, and it is empty.

Calls in both directions work fine!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

It's possible the recipient needs to check the network at their end and phone settings too.

Speak to O2 Customer Services. 202 for Contract. 4445 for PAYG. 8002 for Business. to have your account checked and possibly reset.

Sometimes a sim swap is needed to remedy such issues. Any O2 shop can do this for you.

I did a sim swap last week to try and rectify the issue. It's solved some of the call issues I was having with everyone (full signal, but things going to VM - had to keep the phone on 2G to get all calls).

Was hopeful it would resolve the texting issue too, but alas not 😞

Can you insert your sim into a different phone to see if the sim or phone is faulty?

This will have to be the next step I think, but finding people I know that haves phones with nano-sims are far and few between.

Will have to see about getting an adapter online!
