Simswap nightmare - cut off old number, can't get a text

I tried to move my esim from my old iPhone to my new one, it looked like I needed to do a simswap. So I entered all of my details, and instead of getting a text, my sim seems to have been shut off. I can now no longer use that number.

I tried to contact o2 via Twitter (as I have no phone, and there is no way to chat to an o2 agent online). Eventually called the equivalent of 202 from another phone... 90 minutes later I was told that I would be sent a new esim.

Now I have loaded the new esim... but according to the instructions (step1, load esim, step 2 simswap), I am snookered.

Can anyone help, or suggest a number that I can call which will get me through to an actual human who can help?

@oomclint

You need to call customer service.

Call 202 from your mobile or 0344 809 0202, 0800 902 0217 or 0800 032 1402

If you have no access to a phone then use Skype to call 0800 032 1402

When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling,

Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.

Press 2 for Everything Else

Press 5 for More Options

Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to an advisor.

Press Upgrade, Lost/Stolen or Fraud if you have to.

8am is the best time to call

OR you can message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), hopefully they should be able to help.

You can't use the original eSim in the new phone, you would need to get a new one @oomclint

It might come through on your My o2 app but no guarantees.

Additionally asking customer services for one will result in your current sim (e or not) being cut off so it would be safer (but not more convenient) to visit your local o2 store.

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).
