Simplicity ulimited texts changes,, not happy!!!!

had the ulimited texts plan for over a year,,,,, o2 have changed it from 12,000 to something way less. This is a game breaker for me, im dont call much I only text, really having to think now and possibly move elsewhere.

For starters unliited texts that have a minimum use of 12,000 is not uliminted is it,,,, yes it was fair enough as I would never use all that.

Now its at 2000 or 3000 and Ive used all mine 2 weeks into my tarriff

Not a happy customer, all I can do now is buy a 12 pound bolt on for 400 or top up and use the 12p texts.

Im going to do neither,,, I will be looking elsewhere for more texts

Changed becuase some people were abusing it,,, I doubt that, changed to get more money more like

Some people were abusing so f the people who aren't

Great Stuff O2

I have 80 minutes left and no texts after 2 weeks of the simplicity 300 minutes and unlimited text pay as you go tarrif.

I've always had unlimited texts from O2 going back over a year at least. First time I've ever ran out of unlimited texts

What fat cat thought it would be a good idea quartering the unlimited texts fair usage policy,,,,,,,,

BT infinity unlimited for example
They don't have a fair usage on how much you can download, because customers would complain and look elsewhere.

Pull the finger out O2, if your losing customers it's because of stuff like this and removing the top up surprises.

Top up surprises were great then they slowly changed them so you only got the crappy offers from other companies like £5 off your shopping or something instead of extra texts or minutes. Stopped me wanting to top up.

Now unlimited texts have been slaughtered I see no reason to stay, and I'll be making sure others don't that I know.

Here is the details from customer service, no I never got a text telling me

Shanu: Please give me a minute.

Shanu: So that I explain this to you.

Shanu: It was an internal change and was done on 5th sep 2011.

Shanu: We did notify the customers through texts it may be that you didn't get it.

Shanu: Now the fair messaging is 2990 for unlimited texts.

It was done to stop unscrupulous people/companies from getting one of these sims and spamming to their heart's content. Not fair on normal customers I agree but it was proving to be a major problem.

The "Excessive Usage Policy" is fairly open - it basically states that any "unlimited" element of your tariff is subject to 2 basic checks:

  • Are you using the same device/phone that your account is meant to be using, and
  • does your usage have a negative impact to other customers or the network's health in general.

If O2 are not satisfied with either of these points - they'll first contact you to let you know, and if you don't reduce your usage then they can take action.
