Sim Swap

Newbie here - please be gentle.  Unsure if this is the correct board for my topic.

I have just received my new iPhone 5s (from apple) I have inserted the new nano sim that o2 sent me.  I went to the o2 page to swap my sim but I have to use a text code that is sent to my existing number - the problem being my old iPhone 4s is now up and running with my mum so I can't get the text.

I have been on the live chat and according to them they have no record of the sim being sent out and can not activate it.

They say they will have to send out another one or possibly the shop can help.

Is this really all I can do?

Whoops brain fart.

Can you put the sim in another phone.

If it's the sim size that's the issue then you can get a sim adapter from an O2 store so it can fit in a normal sized SIM card phone.

Have you tried texting SWAP 20220

Live chat are ok for low level general enquiries.

You are better off ringing O2 on 202 contract or 4445 Payg.

They are closed right now.

Or pick up a blank SIM card from an O2 shop and they will do the transfer In store for you.

I beleive this has to be done from the old sim card to start the process......?

What an absolute bummer.  I should have checked the process before I parted with the iPhone 4s.  Would the shop be able to sort it out or will I need to buy the adapter as you said and do it that way?
