Sim Only Tariff Change?

Hi all, I have my own iPhone 7+ and was fed-up with the poor network coverage from EE in my area, so I did a bit of research and decided to go with o2 and a sim-only 12 month deal. 

Very happy with the netwrok coverage and service recievd so far. However, I'm not using anywhere near the air time and data I pay for each month! I was wondering how long into a sim only contract are you able/permitted to change/downgrade your tarriff, or if this is even posibble?

You can't downgrade it until the 12 months is up, but you can upgrade to a full phone contract and reduce your tariff that way, although overall cost may be higher.
