I’m 17 years old and currently my Mum pays for my SIM card monthly ( as a contract) under her name and bank card details. I was wondering if I can change the contract to be on my name and my details when I’m 17, or if I can’t then if I need my mum to be there with me for me to change it to a different contract?

You would need to apply for your own contract when you are 18 and if accepted, your Mum can give permission to migrate the number to it, which will cancel the current contract.

You need to be 18 for a contract in your own name but she can change the bank details to yours for payment purposes. A credit check will be needed when you apply for a contract so it would be wise to start building up your vcredit sscore now.
