Signal/mast failure - Islington, London, N1 - last 7 days!

Anonymous
Not applicable

Anyone else having this issue? Seems to be ongoing intermittant since last Tues 18th, though since the weekend we have had no reception on our street at all?!?!? Also seems to be dodgy all the way on Upper street as well.

Spoke to O2 support yesterday,  after 25 mins on the phone they admitted a problem but could give no ETA for a fix. Down again today on Xmas day so no callreform family etc,  though I don't expect much to be done the next grew days, pretty frustrating especially seeing the O2 status page report no known faults for our postcode!!!!

Status page doesn't seem to update automatically:(

Unfortunately getting engineers over Christmas period would be difficult. It will most likely be up by weeks end:)

We've had the same issues in our house (just off of upper street), really frustrating as has been going on for 2 weeks now and O2 seem to be less than helpful when I call...

Are they accepting there's a fault?

It's now the 2 January and I haven't been able to send text/call from home since around the twentif of December. Now the Status pages says that they are carrying out some maintenance on phone masts in this area on the 03 January! In the meantime of course no calls and very poor text signal!

I expect half the country being under water has caused some problems and delays to these problems being fixed as quickly as usual.

They accepted that there was an issue but gave no idea as to when it would be fixed, they are absolutely useless, really frustrating!

Unfortunately the network side doesn't give much info back to CS, usually the first we hear is that it's been fixed.

I hope it's not too long for you, this is the latest report:

Day 19 and still no reception at home, not far off Upper Street!

Spoke to O2 on the 27th Dec, they said work was scheduled on the masts for the 3rd Jan, patiently waited until then, nothing on the 3rd. Rang on the Fri 4th, told they are still working on the masts until 8pm, and the next scheduled work to be carried out is on the 15th!

So now we are expected to wait until the 15th for the next chance to be able to receive calls at home. I'd have thought if people are unable to take/make calls in an area this would be treated as a priority?

Its coming to the point where I'm thinking this is not going to be resolved and the only way to be able to get phone reception is to change providers, which is a shame as have been with O2 for 5 years.

Anyone from O2 care to comment/make a suggestion?

You aren't likely to get a response from O2 here I'm afraid.

Repairs to masts can be time consuming as we don't know what is needed to fix it, I can only say they won't want it down for a minute longer than necessary.

Changing suppliers may not make any difference as they all have these problems from time to time.

If your phone is unlocked you could try another networks sim to help until this is fixed.
