Sharer Plan - Error

So was up town today and in the O2 store talking to a nice guy named John, (was originally in re wife's S6, but that's another story). Anyway, John was telling me about the £9 tablet and other offers on my account. (Side note, I figure these offers are more likely available to everyone but I digress). I stated that my oldest daughters sim was in giffgaff but was running out of data part way through the month and happened to mention sharing data, John told me that my non refresh account could infact share data, so long story store I bought a 12 month sim share plan... You'll never guess what, it won't link to my number... Shame really, I've called and asked to cancel and customer services said they would as still within 14 day cooling off. I just hope this is not a start of a bigger problem. Note to self, don't take what your told for granted, even from a very helpful person.

I would check back tomorrow as accounts do not normally update in real time if it then fails raise a full complaint re miss selling buy the store

Yeah thanks @adamtemp64, Ill check back on it Monday. I thought about going back to the store but as customer services said they would take care of it, didn't want to muddy the waters by having two requests to cancel. Its a shame too as this would have been a good solution.

As long as you have a lead device set up you can add any other device you own as long as you bring them into your account.
It looks like you have a lead so you should be able to link them.

According to customer services my number (with the 10Gb I wanted to share) needs to be on refresh. Because I upgraded via CPW I got a "standard plan" that's not eligible. The agent said my wife's number is, but that would mean only 1Gb could be shared. That's not what I was sold / asked for.

My daughter costs me 10£ on giffgaff a month for 1Gn data, she runs out more often than not, so when John said if moved her to sim only and share my data that seemed like a good idea. Plus, she'd have got unlimited calls and texts.

What does it say in your my o2 under shared data for your phone?

Well according to O2 customer services it's the account, at a fee in excess off £500... But then I also get a new phone 😕
