Shared Data Plan

Hi,

I've tried my best to get an answer to this question today via 1) O2 Online Chat 2) Calling my local store & 3) Calling 202 but have yet to receive one that gives me any confidence.

I'm soon to purchase an iPad Pro and the answer to this question is vital in me deciding to go for the cellular option or not.

My current O2 contract (30GB Refresh) allows for me to share the data on this plan. What I want to know is, can I drop into a store, pick up a SIM card, connect that SIM to my current contract, allowing me to share the 30GB data with it.

If I am, is there any additional cost?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys, just wanted to drop a quick comment related to the sharer plans and the question asked about the related prices  - I was just checking with O2 and this is the current info I received in case that helps!

I wonder if the 1 pound charge mentioned was some type of offer...?

Voice & Text (all with unlimited calls & texts):

  • Refresh (24 month) - £15.00
  • SIMO (12 month) - £15.00
  • SIMO (30 day) - £18.00

Access to Share Data-only (all with 100 texts):

  • Refresh (24 month) - £6.00
  • SIMO (30 day) - £8.00

Yes you can and it will cost £7.50 a month.

Thanks for the reply.

Why do you say £7.50? I only ask as £7.50 is the price I seen mentioned in this forum previously however both the store and customer service employee I spoke to said it would be £1 per month for 12 months.

Paying £1 a month for the extra SIM, it would be worth it to me. However, £7.50, I would leave it and continue to use my hotspot.

Unless it's changed (which we haven't been told) it was always 7.50 to share data only or 15.00 to share data calls and texts.

I've never seen £1 offered anywhere.
The prices quoted by yourself @Marjo are inline with what I can remember.
