Service is driving me insane!

Hi all,  Im having a nightmare with my phone.  Signal is bad most of the time,  I get cut off mid call numerous times a day and the internet signal is terrible.  i can be sat next to the missus and try and search something and it takes minutes just to load the search results whereas her competitor provider loads the pages instantly.

I'v called twice and I have spoken to live chat twice.  The calls just fobbed me off and said there were signal issues in the area.  the first live chat said the same and the second one offered me a reduction of £3 a month in my bill from October which is yet to take effect.  I would like to complain but this seems impossible and barriers are put in place to prevent this via the call centre and online chat.  Also no email address?  In 2014?

I really want to leave o2 but i am tied in for another year.  Is there a get out clause as the service being provided is not the one i signed up for?

Thanks

Danny

Have you checked your service status yourself ?

http://status.o2.co.uk

E mail https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help

Complaint http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,question=ref(User):str(Mobile),C...

O2 won't generally release on such grounds as it does not 100% guarantee service everywhere.

Try cleaning your sim and or having it swapped out at an O2 store.

What phone are you using.

Can you toggle off 3G and use 2g as an alternative as this can help.

You get 7 days to check your signal at the start of your contract, after that you have to see it out. Was it always bad or has something changed?
Is it everywhere or just one location?
Service checker is here http://status.o2.co.uk/

I've tried all the usual stuff, sim out, phone off but it doesnt do anything.  There arent any problems in the area either.  I was sold a 3g contract in an area without 3g so i turned it off and its still pretty bad.

I called at the start of my contract with my concerns and was told it was a service problem in  the area so i just sat it out to see if things improved and they havn't.  Iv never had this problem with any of the other providers.

The phones a Samsung galaxy.

It's always wise to check coverage with PAYG sims before committing to a 2 year contract.

Yes i have a basic old school work nokia too that struggles with signal and cuts off.  My mate is having the same problems so i dont think its the phone.  I'll message o2 with the links you posted.  Hopefully i can end the contract early.  Thanks

You can look at O2 Tugo that can run off home wifi.

I hope you find some form of resolution but I'm afraid it's not good odds that O2 will quash your contract.
