Hi,

Its recently came to  my attention that messages that ive been sending to a phone in Ireland have not been recieved but O2 are still charging me for sending them...

I was just wondering really if this was an issue with anyone else, I generally dont use sms to contact overseas as there are cheaper options to use.

But as the sevice has failed should I have been charged for it?

If you are being charged it means your message is reaching the gateway.

The problem could be with the receiving end.

Ask them to check these tips Guide: Text Message Tips (not sent or received)

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

If the text has successfully sent from your phone then your part is done and you will be charged.

It will be the receiving phone or network where the issue will reside.

I would check with phone user as they may have blocked you unintentionally.

Also to save yourself some money use whatsapp or facebook messenger as they are free.
