I am on a 24 month contract and recently upgraded to an iphone 5, however i am struggling to make ends meet and need to sell my iphone to pay some bills - can i sell my phone and still keep my contract? i would buy a iphone 4 to use?
would the phone get blocked when the person buys it and puts there sim in?

Get your iPhone 5 unlocked using your current sim before you sell the phone on.

Providing the iPhone 4 is unlocked and open for use on O2 you will be fine to use it.
With regards to your sold one, its yours to sell so the buyer would be able to use their sim in it (assuming their on O2 also)

What contract did you take out?
If on o2 refresh you cannot sell the handset until the credit agreement is paid.
If non refresh then the other responses are correct
