If the phone is bought on a refresh plan, the IMEI does get barred.

@Anonymous I think you need to substantiate your claims with verifiable examples, or ask O2 to confirm.

On any forum members can post their suppositions which can be flawed.

@Beenherebefore Unfortunately I cannot give you customer's account or mobile numbers who have had their handsets barred as a result of non-payment due to DPA. I have worked and am still working for O2 customer service for the past 12 years and I am commenting with my own experience. Furthermore, I would just like to confirm that any of the views I express or have expressed to date are my own, and have no bearing on O2 policy.

I may not post here often but I have recently started to post as I have seen the coin from both sides, the customer side and the representative side.

Regards,

You need to add the o2 employee disclaimer to your SIG as per the forum rules mate.....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

How do we know you are an O2 employee ?

To make such claims that you have, you need to substantiate them with hard facts otherwise it's a load of old bull or hearsay.

Thanks but I'm insignificant....it's your employer that requires that statement.
