Hello,

You probably already know this but I thought I would inform that I received a scam text which I know for sure as somebody who is a IT Security Analyst the text is fake.

It looks like the scammer last are at it again sending out messages telling you that your bundle will be cancelled due to a payment error which wouldn’t happen buried if you didn’t pay your bill then O2 would more likely send you a letter. And not a text with a fake link. Scammers who send these messages out mask their real number so the text that you get is a fake number. Scammers also buy domains and used these to scam payment detail of the unfortunate gullible people who believe the text is from O2 and that the link is real will unfortunately believe the link is real.

Use the O2 App if there was apartment error it would show up in your O2 App. If everything looks to be fine and there are no payment issues and it says your next payment will be on whatever date your contact takes a payment out on then you know the text is fake.

Be on alert, and don’t be fooled by a scammer. Never give your details on a website that you are not sure if it’s authenticityZ if it looks dodgy there are a few things that you can check. Check when the domain name was registered if this is a fairly new domain name then the likelihood of this website being fake is probably right.

Use your common sense and initiative and be on alert at all times. During the Global Pandemic Fraud went up by over 200% and it hasn’t dropped.

O2 never text from a mobile number.
If you also received a OTP by text at the same time, you need to change your O2 password immediately as it means the scammers have access to your account.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
