I've received 4 emails over the last couple of days and this morning about O2 stopping the direct debit I've had for 20 or so years and they're opening a new direct debit! I find this very strange. Is this a scam? I've tried to contact O2 to no avail.

No scam. It's O2 moving you to the new billing system which requires a new direct debit.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
