I've tried messaging a friend in Russia in preparation for going over there in a couple of weeks but none of them are being received? She has messaged me on the same number and I can receive messages from her. Any thoughts as to what's going on?

It'll be interesting to see what happens when you are over there but it will also completely remove the "international" aspect from the equation as well as the O2 network, so might not actually prove anything....?

True. Just show that there is definitely a problem between tele2 and O2, but I guess it's whoever will accept responsibility and actually look into what the problem is.

So far O2 haven't not been very helpful.

I really don't see them getting too involved with a foreign network apart from any roaming agreements they have in place.

They have enough to contend with on their own Uk Network at the minute.

I don't really see this getting resolved to be honest as it won't be very high on O2's current network issues. Hope I'm wrong.

Yes, unfortunately it's unlikely to be a high priority for either network, I would imagine..... 😞

Probably true, however you don't get anywhere if you don't at least try slight_smile

Not that I would be using it much, it's expensive to text Russia comparitively speaking. Especially with vk messaging etc being free, just requiring data :)

Yes totally agree and that's why I wished you well

Personally I'd be looking at using a local SIM card but that's just my preference and in no way suggest it should be yours.

It's unfortunate that companies wanting to make money gets in the way of technology.

If you could just roam with phone and SMS without extra charges I'd be happy. I'm not doing data roaming as there's plenty of wireless over there slight_smile
