I've tried messaging a friend in Russia in preparation for going over there in a couple of weeks but none of them are being received? She has messaged me on the same number and I can receive messages from her. Any thoughts as to what's going on?

That's telling me how to install a call blocker called Blacklist. How will that help me?

If they are on iOS 7 call/ text blocker is installed in the settings. No app is required.

My link explains what that is.

Nothing to do with blacklist.

Seems to be a problem in Russia at the moment - You never know what their Government is upto 😞

The Android link was which is all I'd seen when I saw it. I'll ask my friend but I very much doubt they've blocked me, surely it'd be fairly noticable when trying to message me on that number.

On the iPhone it's designed so that the other person never knows they've actually been blocked.

I'm really not sure what part of this people aren't getting. My friend can send me a message. In Russia. On her iPhone. She send the text message. I am receiving the message. On my phone. In the UK. I can send a message. It says it is sent. It is not being reported as received. She never receives the message. I give up. I'll try a friend who also has a Nexus 4 but is on another network tomorrow and see if a message from their phone gets through. If it does then it's O2. If it doesn't then it's a different problem. Failing that I have someone with an iPhone on another network.

Ok.

Let us know how you get on.

As I said it may not be a blocking issue but it has been known to be on a number of occasions.

The fact thatsomeone else on O2 is having the exact same problem points to one of the networks. It may be that O2 doesn't have agreements in place with the particular Russian network your friend is on.

I get it fine, hence the link I posted that gave exactly the same issue that you are having !

If it's your texts not getting through there is the possibility that your friend has blocked you accidentally. It has nothing to do with any blocking facility on your phone at all.

However, same problem, on same network, to same country points to an O2 to receiving network issue.

Does that make sense ?
