SMS on WiFi calling

Now that I finally have WiFi calling on both our phones after a long saga, I have now problems in sending texts. If there is a trace of an O2 signal, the text sends but it is a bit of a pain to go outside and wander about in the garden waiting for the little whoop that the phone gives when the text is successfully launched into the cosmos.

Has anyone else got this issue? I don’t want to get into being sieved through the tech layers of the guru help lines if possible.

O2 don't support sms over wifi yet.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@MusicIan You can use WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger over WiFi, but the recipient also has to have the app.

Thanks, yes, messenger and what’s app are fine, but a couple of friends have neither, hence the issue.

@MusicIan If your friends have smart phones, you need to educate them.:smileywink:
