SMS and Wifi calling - any update since 2018?

Hi there,

With banks and other businesses increasingly using SMS text messages to deliver One Time Passwords for security, the unreliable mobile signal at home is becoming more than a simple irritation.  Are there any plans to update Wifi calling to allow receipt of SMS text messages - or will I have to look for another mobile provider?

Thanks

Richard

@coastalrambler

We have heard O2 are looking into it for the past year now, so personally have no idea if/when it will ever be implemented? I will mention @Chris_K here, just in case he has any update?

Just some information on OTP by SMS

A lot of Financial institutions will be moving away from SMS and Voice One Time Passwords, as this is now classified as insecure and its now not recommended to be used.

So it looks like we will be going back to Hardware and Software Tokens for financial institutions and others in the future.
