My wife is on a pay monthly account and she has started getting calls from a Blackburn, Lancashire number from someone of overseas nationality claiming to be from O2, stating that her SIM card will be deactivated and they need to send her a new one,

they are requesting email address and other information which she has declined. This is stressing her out as her father is currently seriously sick in hospital and is dependent on her phone,

we are guessing a scam as no other form of contact has been made, has anyone else had this or can confirm it being a scam and also can anyone other than O2 block her sim

Happens on a weekly basis at the moment

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I keep getting phone calls claimimg to be from 02 from various numbers, the latest is from 02030382595 just now.  It's virtually impossible to understand what they're saying, but I gather it's something to do with a sim card.  I'm giving serious thought to changing providers as I never had this crap with Virgin Media

Ironically @XSRGirl VM and O2 are now one and the same !

A quick Google of 02030382595 suggests that it is a scam ; suggest you refer to the advice given by @Cleoriff above.

As it is not O2 contacting you but someone impersonating them, I am not sure what you hope to gain by leaving. 👍
