SIM Swap taking ages

I upgraded on Monday and changed my number the ame time.  The number change happened almost instantly, but my SIM swap (from normal SIM to the Nano SIM required in my new device), is taking ages. It's been 2 days now and no sign of my new SIM activating. My old phone with the old SIM is still working.  I was told by O2 that this change would take no more than 24 hours.

How long can I expect to wait for this to happen?  At the moment I'm having to carry 2 phones around with me, and have had a new phone for 2 days that I cannot use. Very frustrating.

Thanks

Steve

Thanks

Shouldn't take more than 24 hours max. You can call Customer Service: http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus  or try to do it yourself here:

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Are you aware any O2 shop can perform this for you too if your passing one that is convenient of course

Just another avenue to look at.

I first did over the phone and it was the worst mistake ever time waste and in the end couldn't use the sim...so i went instore and only took a couple of hours...with O2 i think it depends on the advisor, some are excellent and some aren't.

I've always been impressed with the customer service from O2.  On this occassion though I don't think they did my SIM swap correctly, because I decided to do it myself on the advice above, and my new phone kicked into life within an hour.

Thanks for the advice guys slight_smile

Thanks

Sometimes, for various reasons, the swap can fail to initiate.
For anyone else reading this, if you have gone past 24 hours waiting, just try the process again.....
