I've just paid off my device plan and upgraded to a sim only deal. It says my order will be sent via royal mail, but surely they would just update my tariff on my existing sim?

Can someone please shed some light on this?
Thanks

Hi @alexg1380

It is not uncommon for O2 to send you out a new sim card in case you are changing devices and have the wrong size. The sim card they send you should not be active and you can continue to use your existing sim card if you are happy to do so.

Hope this helps

Yes just carry on using your current sim.

It's just a generic message that is sent out to any new customers too

I've just received a sim, I'm assuming this is because it's 5G enabled and my new phone will be?

If you are in a 5G area and you're phone is 5G ready then do a sim swap

guide here

Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update

Bear in mind that sim swaps are taking much longer than usual so it may be prudent to wait for better times.

You must have selected the option that you will be using a 5g phone when you upgraded.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
